We missed you, Monterey Historics, but not so much now!!! This weekend, we met up with old friends (and made some new ones) at the Angoulême Circuit des Remparts.
The beauty of this very special event, which started in 1939, is that they actually make a race track in the old town of Angoulême, the capital of the Charente department. It draws an enormous number of car-enthusiasts from all over Europe. Over three days, there are expositions, a concours d’elegance, a rally, and then the races. There are multiple race groups, from pre-war cars to 1980’s touring and sports cars.
There is a small fee to get into the paddocks, but roaming the streets, with cars exhibited all over town, is free. The city is buzzing with activity and we had a very good time there on Saturday. We are planning to book an apartment to enjoy the whole of next year’s affair.
hi Cindy, hi Theo,
hello from Mike and me on this beautiful October day in California. We miss you. It was super great to talk to you live today. We are sooooo thrilled that you found a beautiful home in France. Wow! It’s gorgeous!!! Can’t wait to see it in person. We’ll see you in the spring/summer of next year. That’s only a few months away. Again, miss you lots. A big, big hug to you two! With love, Mike and Donata
It was great to hear your voice, too, Donata. I can hardly wait to get my hands on the house. It promises to be a beauty!!! We miss you too. And we’ll look forward to a wonderful visit next year. Hugs back at ya!
