Spring is Hippity Hopping into the Dordogne

Things have ‘slowed’ down a bit, as we ease into spring. But really, progress is great at the house as the wall insulation goes up and the new electrical is installed. A few ‘quiet’ weeks with just three guys at the house, but we’re thrilled with how the house feels and sounds. Now the drywall (placo) is going up. Yeah!

Metal studs with spacer for installation of insulation. Then the electrician easily runs his wires behind the studs and the placo goes on top. Learning interesting building techniques every day!

Spring has sprung and we try to soak up each and every day.

Annie thought the swans looked very interesting until one hissed at her!

We’ve found ourselves at the local coop on really slow days (meaning Theo is bored) and always end up having a blast!

In addition to the plum, hazelnut, fig, walnut, and apple trees we have on the property, we’ve planted a peach, an apricot, a cherry, and a pear. So excited!

Theo, proud as a peach, with his new little tree which has precious little flowers on it!

Never a huge fan of primroses, but they're wild all over the property. I feel differently about them now. This is a view with the old fence removed onto neighboring property.

I find myself wait for a new blog from you. It’s so exciting. I can’t wait to see it all finished. I just love it. Keep sending all the new things going on. I’m very happy for you. I know we had fun doing our new home but it’s not as exciting as yours.
Just love you guys. Gail and Don Bell

Thanks, Gail! Good to know you’re “out there.”

I’m really in my element doing my own renovation. But doing it in a place where I don’t speak the language, don’t know where to source materials, and am generally at the mercy… But I still love it. Learning more every day!

So enjoy your Blog and photos! Looks like you are both having a great time!
And you dear Cindy, doing what you love and doing it so well!
    That certainly hasn’t changed!
