It has begun. THE HOUSEHUNT.

We had such high hopes for this house that we viewed last week. I had been in contact with the realtor for months and the day finally came when we could see it.

The house was in St. Astier, just outside of Périgueux, the capital of the Dordogne region. It came with 300 meters of river front (can you say ‘dream come true???’)

Here is a tour:

Kitchen. Top-of-the-line modern, but a deal-breaker for me. Closed off from the rest of the house.

All in all, we were disappointed in the house. Even though it was between the road and the river, the road was noisy. The river front was fantastic, but the house was chopped up and it still needed a pool. At €599,000, we decided it wasn’t for us. We are venturing out tomorrow. Stay tuned!
