…but not everyone gets to enjoy one at a medieval castle!
The Castle of Cochem overlooking the town.
This is a photo journal of our wonderful day at the Renaissance Festival at the Reichsburg Cochem (the Imperial Castle in Cochem, Germany).
The castle dates back to 1000 AD and is a marvelous example.
Theo and his little buddy. Even though his standard answer is “Seen one castle, seen ’em all,” he had a great time!
Beautiful. And inspiring.
We watched belly dancers…
…with our new friends Dieter and DietLinda.
We had the boy band (above) …and the girl band with the fire twirler…
Wonderful views of the Mosel river and Cochem from the Castle.
We were serenaded…
…and got our fill of violence…
…and overall, were enchanted by the atmosphere.
This is a shot of the amazing ceiling in the chapel where our friends’ daughter was married. Wow, what a venue!!!
So quintessentially German.
This amazing inlaid wardrobe was the most valuable piece of furniture in the castle, early Renaissance from the sixteenth century!
With our friends August and Sybille overlooking the Mosel.
And the town of Cochem. So adorable!
We couldn’t have dressed more coordinated for a photo if we’d tried! Har har!
And last, but not least, fell in love with this little guy on our way out. He was as cute coming as he was going!
Looks like you are on a long vacation! Congratulations.
What a glorious day and a beautiful venue! Wish we were there!
